i was reading the " how to get your parents to think you DONT smoke" and i was wondering, how many of your parents know that you smoke, and for those who do, do they care?

I was surprised reading threads around here because there's a lot of threads about how to get people out of situations with their parents or something.

both my parents smoke weed regularly [actually not my dad since the divorce, but he used to be into harder substances as well], my sister does, I do, both sides of the family recreationally do, and we are a pretty well off family financially, unlike most pictures you'd get in your head of familys full of potheads. speaking to my parents and friend's parents it's easy to see i'm sure 90% of mom's and dad's have or do smoke weed in my town, so what's with all the secrecy?

do you have to sneak around? If you do, don't you wonder why you have to? Who knows, maybe your parents are like mine and you just haven't found out yet!

my mom lets me as long as i do it in my room, my brother can do it wherever cause its 18

Im 27 now and my mom has smoked for as long as I can remember. I started by steeling her roaches when I was about twelve so she knew that I smoke but she never said a word about it to me. I would sometimes stick a pack of paper's or a thing of visine in her purse since I was muchin her weed. But only in the pas couple of years has it came up and ive only smoked with her once. Dad dosent say anything at all to me but he know's that we both smoke also. I own a home and and literally work 8-5. That's my story

My parents don't know, and i don't plan on telling them anytime soon. I'm convinced that my dad smokes weed though. Who know though.. really depends i guess. My mom would kill me if she found out. I don't care what she thinks though, she thinks i'm already goin nowhere in life (isn't true) and when i prove her wrong, i'm gonna fire up a nice big joint and smoke it in front of her

My parents have never cared. When i was young my dad had a license to grow and smoke marijuana for back pain and nerve damage, he wanted me to wait until i was mature enough to understand its use and how to handle it. My mom has never cared cause she used to smoke with friends so she let me do it as long as i stayed out of trouble. But thats the past, i am in charge of myself now

my mom knows i have and she doesnt like it, she is a goody goody.

my dad knows i do but doesnt say anything mainly because he does too so he cant really say anything, he knows i know he smokes and i know he knows i smoke and thats that, we dont rat each other out to my mom or say anything around each other about it. i sometimes take some of his weed, but i usually pay him back like when a fully packed pipe just happend to fall out of my pocket infront of his bar for his fathers day present

my dad dosent know, but i dont nkow if he would care or not, he smokes and has since 14 years old (hes 47 now) i just recentley started, im 15 and yeah, we have had talks about it before, its allmost as if he expects me to smoke...

My parents both know. They used to smoke and they still ride me all the time for it. Once they jacked me and smoked my shit too! They just don't dig me doing that shit I guess...

My mom knows. I didn’t approach her about it until after I was 18. My mom doesn’t smoke anymore but she buys it for my dad. I was about to run to my friends house and pick up a fat sack, but the night before I figured I’d just ask her – if she wanted to go half/half on a bigger sack and save us both money. She liked the idea. It was way better than the shit she had been getting for him too. The only problem is a few weeks later he flat out asked her if she was buying weed from me and I guess caught her off guard and she denied it. Since I’ve never really talked to my dad about my smoking yet that created kinda a weird little situation there. My mom ends up being like a middle-man between me and my dad and he doesn’t even know it.

So my mom knows, and my dad either knows or doesn’t know, or maybe suspects but doesn’t have confirmation. I’ve been smoking pretty heavily for over 2 years now. I used to be all paranoid about it at first but aside from closing my door I almost don’t even try to hide it anymore.

I thought my dad knew so I sarted getting careless. He caught me and told me I can't smoke and he wouldn't have an illegal drug under his roof..

They know, my mom worries a little but they know their's nothing they can do about it so I only smoke outside and all are happy.

lol i remember those nights fuckin walkin home from a friends just knowing my parents where waiting right inside the door for the second i popped my head in, fuckin raggin on me all the time, i guess they just wanted me to be a good samaratin like they are, guess i kinda fuckt that up eh?

TIP: For all u peeps with hard-ass parents who dont know, DONT GET CAUGHT, i first got caught in grade. 8 when me and my friends were first experimenting with it, we decided to go to my room in the basement and blaze, lol.. ONCE YOU GET CAUGHT THEY ALWAYS THINK YOUR HIGH EVEN WHEN YOUR NOT!

my mom and step dad dont care because my step dad does it recreationally and for back pain. mom just wants me to keep my grades and shit up and stay responsible but its worth it.

I don't know if smoking weed is hereditary, but addictive substances in general are genetic, i think. Both my parents used to smoke now just my mom. My brother also smokes. My grandfather was an alcoholic and so is my aunt. My grandmother's not an alcoholic, but she drinks more than an average woman should. My uncle gets incredibly beligerent when he gets drunk so he stays away from it, but if he didn't make himself, I think he'd be an alcoholic. My brother's the same as my uncle when he's drunk.

It's genetic, but it's also self-medication. I can say all that stuff about my family and we seem like weak people, but I can also say mental health is poor in my family. Bipolar, ADHD, depression, breakdowns- we have it all. In someways I guess we're aiming to numb it with smoking or alcohol.

i think my mom knows cuz she has made comments about it before, kind of under her breath. does she care? yes. do i care if she knows? nope.

my parents are highly against it i am just trying to inform them about it starting with the history and what not because i think once they understand that a tree is a tree meaning in my mind a plant shouldnt be illegal they will understand but basically i now am in the stage where they will let me smoke a little hear and there until i stop which they want me to do i told them i wont stop til the day i die

if your parents dont know and you have to hide it dont do things that give it away like gum, air freshner, axe, windows open at night, visine in plain sight, i think the worst thing to do is talking to your parents when your high and also i got caught because my dad has a very strong nose he can smell anything like i had stored some weed and forgot about it and couldnt find it and he found it with his nose so dont under estimate your parents
