    Question For depression,anxiety,ptsd,anger & to quit drinking?

    So I need some input on this.. I have not smoked in 12 years. I originally smoked to feel relaxed and to be able to concentrate. Since stopping smoking, i have done pretty much every other drug out there heavily which has caused some serious head issues for me. I have been clean for 2 years now, but cant quit drinking heavily. The withdrawals are to the point where i should be hospitalized, but the drinking is bad enough that i should probably be hospitalized for that too. Basically its ruining my life in every possible way. So i want to quit. I have no desire to use any other drugs and really dont even want to smoke Medical Marijuana either. I have been on Paxil, seroquel,remeron and wellbutrin at different times and they all worked on some things but caused some very undesirable side effects. So i have given up on them.
    My problems are with depression,anxiety,ptsd,violence,anger,paranoia and im a bigtime alcoholic.

    Dont want to drink and could really use the other problems gone as well.

    Anyone have experience with similar problems? Has smoking helped with any of them? Just need a bit of input to make sure im not setting myself up for more problems.

    Sounds like you have a serious addictive personality and should refrain from replacing one addiction with another that is less physical but....the mental addiction is half the issue.

    You really should get into an AA program. They can help you much more than cannabis will,and point you to other entities that may be of more assistance.

    Well the good news is all of your problems are treatable. I would have to say finding a good psychologist could really help. Not every psychologist is a good fit so go around try different ones out. As for your question would smoking help? short answer would be yes but to have the best chance of success medication/therapy is the best route. I think someone with a good background in CBT would help you but I'm a strong believer in CBT and Positive psychology.

    i would recomend a strong indica. should relax your mind and treat depression. i notice if i smoke a heavy sativa, my anxiety and add gets worse, and im not any less depressed. indicas make me happy with myself and make me not worry or stress so much. im not one to say therapy works, ive never tried it but dont plan on it either. you have to make yourself believe that you are not weak, and realize that it is all in your head and the way you are looking at things. change your view and you yourself will change for the better. you can do it without any help, just got to believe in yourself.

    I quit drinkin about 2 weeks ago, and I'm definitely relying on pot to help me through the beginning, around 90 days and then I'm gonna slowly cut it out. In 6 months I want to be off everything. You sound like you will need a medical detox, which takes a few days or up to a week and just keeps you in a safe environment with people around who can help you and give you meds to make you feel more comfortable if you want/need them. I am also on Anti-buse which is the pill that makes you sick if you drink. Nobody wants to get sick right? So that's what's helping me. Good luck

    I stopped drinking in 1996 when I started using medical cannabis
    prescribed to me by a doctor to stop drinking. I started out taking
    antibuse too, then slowly worked down to just the cannabis.

    There are other alternatives out there such as homeopathy, acupuncture or yoga, that have been helpful for many people. And then there's the usual doctor's advise to eat a healthy diet and exercise. Hobbies are good too to help keep the mind preoccupied. Different strokes for different folks as they say.
    For sure though.. you should get in with a local support group such as AA as it helps tremendously to know that you are not alone. There are many others out suffering just like you who are willing to go through this life changing situation with you.
