California has more than two regions, you dumbasses. NorCal and SoCal do not meet in the middle in some particular city.
SoCal is anything between Santa Barbara and Mexico.
The Central Coast goes from Santa Barbara north up the coast to The Bay Area, which is it's own region.
The Central Valley goes from the Grapevine, north up past Sacramento to around Redding.
The Sierras form a region roughly parallel to the Central Valley.
To me, when I drive up 101, I don't feel like I'm really out of the Bay Area and in Northern Callifornia until I hit Hopland and have a Red Tail Ale. From there, it's Nor Cal all the way to Oregon.
This is a great state!

Sorry about the dumbasses thing -- it just slipped out. But SoCal starting south of San Francisco, or NorCal starting north of Bakersfield? Anyway, movin' on....
I was born in San Diego, went to HSU in Arcata, and now I live in the Bay Area.

4/20 is the date you had in mind? Maybe? I've only seen the smoke behind HSU.
The campus empties and the trees fill with smoke. A very friendly event.

Behind HSU?
Naww, there is too many pseudo wanna-be hippies from LA in arcata and other areas, I'm thinking Southern Humboldt off HWY 36 or Ave. of the Giants.. Maybe Dyerville?? Someplace where people can toke hard, shoot guns, yell & scream and not be heard by a soul, except fellow growers!
Harris?? Fort Seward? yah its a drive and way off the mains, but there is nothing like the scenery here..
I'll even bring my infamous see-thru bubble hash!
But 4/20 would be an appropriate target date!
lets do it!
