prepare for amazement!
Ive been in lake county for six months. My first day my neighbor across the street came over introduced himself to me. told me he was in remission from cancer and that i would see him at all hours of the night going to his garage! took me all of 30 secs to translate that one. I moved from a state with zero tolerance....BLEW MY MIND when i got to cali. perfect stranger would talk openly about growing. Back at home....my best friends had no idea. No matter where you go in cali.... prepare for amazement!

I joined this site just to find info on where to move to in Cali. Thanks for starting the thread for me, lol. I too want to move from FL to CA but I am stuck with a condo that I can't sell. I am thinking about just starting over and letting my place go into foreclosure. Great ideas while I am high.

A couple of things to consider:
1. The cost of living is pretty high in Cali, research it and be prepared.
2. Consider a short sale rather than a foreclosure, it is a more responsible way of letting go of your condo.
Good luck.

You can try renting it for now and wait for the market to turn. Even if you rent it for a small loss you can factor in the tax advantages of it as well and also save your credit in the process.

Great suggestions guys!! I am crafting a pros/cons list and cost of living is definitely in the cons column, lol. I am not in a position to purchase a home, I will have about $5-$10K to move with. So I would have to rent which sucks too. Still brainstorming.

Hey amigo, checked mail and shot you back one. Something I am thinking about is how secure is it outdoors vs. indoors.... Hard for bandits and LEO to get into your business if its all within four walls. Food for thought...

just so you know, in the "emerald triangle" i think one or two of those counties dont even require medical cards, the law of the county is you can grow and smoke for recreation also.
i know for a fact that at least a few counties in cali are like this, i KNOW humbolt is like this and maybe medacino.
get a south facing property thats not too hilly and has good soil.
unfortunatly primo grow lots are basicly unaffected by the housing bust and are highly saught after in these ultra lax counties. everyone knows what you can do with a south facing lawn in humbolt
the cost of living is high but id imagine its not TOO much higher than parts of florida. the three counties in the emerald triangle are the three poorest counties in cali because they are also very rural and there is not a lot of jobs in the imedient area (failing economy is part of the reason they are so into growing), so that brings local infation down. the high cost of gas and energy is offset by the fact that you can grow your own food and THE FACT THAT YOU LIVE IN CALIFORNIA!!!!! seriously, if america had free universal healthcare and they started letting us drink in the street the south of france wouldnt have shit on socal.

yeah, its pretty damn bad here in FL. so I am not worried about cost of living too much...Humboldt seems to be where I am going, wanted to move there for 10-15 years, lol. South facing lawn, I'll remember that:PGreenthumb:
