Mendo? Humbolt? Trinity?

hi guys, i currently reside in Georgia and am thinking about moving to north cali. i have a freind living in Mendocino and said i would love it, as i am very 420 freindly. Im 19 and im looking at Mendocino, trinity and Humboldt counties. I just wanted to know how much money i should bring to start out, saying i had to rent a room with a roommate, and find a job. Also just a little information about the areas, from what i heard the both of them are pretty chill places/ I want to be in a state where i can get my medical card and smoke in peace, plus a small grow.

Thanks guys

if you gotta a couple hundred K in cash and good credit check out the 25 acres in Mendo in the other thread. its got a pacific yurt! i'm thinking outdoor garden.

seriously, that sounds like a deal compared the prices I used to see in L.A., you would pay that much for a crappy little condo there. good luck, let us know how Oaksterdam U goes. I've haven't been to the 'dam in about nine years but there is some good smart folks there. The Bulldog (I think that is what it was called ) will always be my favorite coffee house in Cali.

Go ahead and move here, but we don't need you to grow here.

yea that's a negative on the credit check, im a 19 year old georgia boy and dont have that kinda money but i will be looking to stay with my freind with our freind in mendo, or rent out my own place with a roomate..and relax man, i said "small"...my and my freind quality for medical cards in ca so i def would get one after the 10 days i live there. But all in all i have heard that these counties are nice and very laid back. I would either be going to mendocino or humbolt. Thanks dudes

^ yeah, that is a pretty good chunk of change, hu. i bet they'd come down a lot on that sale price if shown the cash.

i moved to so cal from missouri with some buddies of mine when we were all 19, too. loved every minute of it. no regrets at all. rent is higher than hell out there but it might be better a little better these days and having some good friends to share the rent and stuff makes it all possible. enjoy.

Anywhere in those three counties you are going to have a really hard time finding a job. Even minimum wage jobs can be pretty scarce. Even with a college degree it took my wife a year and a half to find a job that paid above minimum wage in Mendo, and it was in an entirely unrelated field.

Mendo is going to be the most expensive place to rent/buy a place, and has the most stringent and restrictive medical regulations in the entire state. If you are really just doing a personal grow, you probably do not have to worry about it. Mendo is also closer to bigger cities.

Humboldt is cheaper, but it is also very isolated. You have to drive at least 3-4 hours in any direction to get to a real city. The weather is also really horrible (rains all the time, very little sun) unless you are in Eastern or Southern Humboldt. Medical restrictions are also more liberal, unless you are in Arcata or Eureka. Humboldt has the biggest social scene, especially if you are near the University.

Trinity is the most undeveloped, but it is closer to Redding so it is not quite as isolated as Humboldt. The biggest town is only about 3,000 people, and it is the most rural of the three counties. Finding a job will probably be the most difficult here, since there is no real industry to speak of. I'm not sure how the medical regulations are there. Rent and land is going to be the cheapest here though.

You might also want to look into some of the areas in the Sierra foot hills. El Dorado county in particular has been attracting a lot of 420 friendly folks lately it seems like. Land and rent are much cheaper there as well, and you may have an easier time finding a job since you will be close to Sacramento.
