bird feces?

Ok, so I'm totally new to organic, but I do pretty well on standard growing. I've been throwing around the idea of fertilizing with feces from my pet bird since he puts out quite a bit. Is this feasible?

yes and no, mountainman. you can't use any old bird shit to fertilize coz they might leave poisons in the plant - the only bird shit you CAN use is chicken-shit. very high in ammonia and other nitrates and is probably the best natural fertilizer in the world.

JUST DON'T PICK UP PIGEON SHIT OR ANY OTHER BIRD SHIT THAT COULD BE VERY BAD FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY PLANT

Notice I said my pet bird. I'm not feeding him poisons, like DDT and such. He's a parrotlet (google the name, they're becoming quite common). But, would any birds naturally generate poisons in their feces?

The guano has to come from curtain areas. The good stuff is from what they eat in there region.,

I used to grow alot with chicken shit, cause I had a chicken coop./ I would just let it mellow in a bucket of water in the sun for 4 or 5 days, otherwise it would burn the root of the plants. I can't see why you couldn't do this with your parrotlet, as long as your feeding him organics, and not poisons :-= xxx
