Re pot your plant man. It is root bound, thats why its dieing. I grow in pots and needed to re pot one plant four times. What you see growing is 50%, the other 50% is in the pot. The equal each other out. Thats why your plant will die! It needs air for it to grow. If ya dont re pot its dead.

thanks for the advice LetsSeeYa and I will be repotting later , I've got a large bucket which I'm going to drill a few holes in which should do the job,

Anyone got any quick advice on how to get a 4 ft plant safely out of it's old pot and into it's new home.

re-homing

Ok so the deed is done , I've roughed up my girl , I don't know if it will be as stressful for her as it was for me.

Will my plant show any stress because of it's re-potting ?.

this bucket must be about 6 gallons so hopefully it should be ok now ,I couldnt get much soil down the sides of the bucket when I put my plant into it so I had to be quite rough pushing down , I also disturbed the roots by scraping the roots with my fingers to get them to grow into new soil.

New pics are clone from last week , new clone from broken branch while re-potting(black pot) , size comparison from new to old (any thoughts?) , and my plant after the ordeal.

Thanks LetsSeeYA your advice was spot on I could'nt actually see any soil when I pulled my plant (I should of realised when roots started coming through the top).

It probably will be stressed out for 1-3 days after the transplant, especially if you were futzing with the root mass that much.

To deal w/ stress, giving it some superthrive is recommended (1/4 tsp/gal. for dealing with acute stress) - it's a cheap vitamin supplement. ($5 bux + free shipping on ebay)

Good luck on your clone! I'll be watching to see how it turns out!

Thanks DOUGAL25 for the tip ,

my first clone that I did is already growing well so I hope the other one does the same , I've got them outside then I bring them in under lighting for a couple of hours to hold off flowering , then I'll let them get to the height I want and then let them flower in my window indoors over the winter.

The problem with my main plant was that the top of the old pot was roughly the same as the new one so once it was in place I couldn't get soil down the side's and I could feel a void so I just had to force the soil down ,I know I have done some damage to the outer roots, will this be a problem?

Thanks again for everyone's input , much appreciated.

Ok so I've started covering my plant from about 7 pm until 9pm when it is dark , the only problem is my plant is too big to cover so I've got to cover my greenhouse , I'm using old sheets which is a pain because I've got to use a lot of them (what must my neighbours be thinking).

No visible shock from re-potting but I'm not happy with drainage so I've had to spike the soil with a metal rod.

Promise my next post will be in flower.

Well technically I am in flower but there not big obvious white hairs like you see in flowering pics, just a few tiny hairs appearing and plant growth seems to of slowed down and getting a little bit more of a smell from her. no pics my macro shots are not good enough.

I'm not happy next doors conifers are as big as their house and are depriving my plant of about 2 hours direct sunlight, my grow gets shaded from around 2pm. (any tips on how to kill these miserable things) lol (no I'm serious).

Pics are my plant tied over and my first clone which is going well.(I actually noticed a hair on my clone first and I'm not covering this up, Is this normal for a clone to flower before a mother even though its getting more light?).

Other clones are growing but not expecting much from them , I'm wondering if I can keep clones going till next summer in my mini growbox/modified fishtank?.

Hope this excellent weather keeps up though it is chilly of the night time.

Good Growin All.

hello and more stressful news that I didn't need , it appears that my next door neighbours daughter has been talking about my plant on facebook , now i'm not worried too much about police but if she's talking about it on facebook that means all her friends know, and all the friends of her friends know,
its my own fault but I only had one spot in my garden and she obviously spotted it, and I've still got ages to go ,
I'm just gonna sit tight and hope for the best

was going to run out and take some photo's but remembered I covered her up half an hour ago , here a couple I took on the 23rd ,

Overcast days do my head in ,I was wondering if to stop covering my girl now that she's in flower or give it a little longer, also with the night's getting colder I was going to put hot water in bottles to keep temp's up , any thoughts advice please.

xgr33nthumbx my plant is (looking in my diary) 8 months old tomorrow , I planted the seedling into a pot on the 25th Feb.

Now I have three dates for flowering but seeing as though I don't know the strain it dosen't matter that much...but,

33 days since I started covering her up a 7pm,

20 days since I changed to 6pm,

15 days since I noticed first pistils,

but I think the weather will determine harvest time.

yes defo gonna get early flowerers next year.

Anyway quick update , Flowering is painfully slow but moving along nicely with no major worries apart from big mouths on facebook but I think her comments passed without anyone paying much attention,

I feel like cartman waiting for the nintendo wii to come out (anyone who dosen't watch south park wont get that),

Pics are the best I can get of flowering so far, roughly 3 or 4 weeks in flower.

Wow the sun's out for a change , just a few more pic's.

Just starting to get crystals on the buds and leaves, found a couple of yellow ladybirds/bugs on my plant(bonus), but slugs are becomming more of a problem seeking warmth in my shelter.

Does anyone get that random paranoia when growing , I have some weeks were I'm easy about it but sometimes I'm awake until about 4am doing a nightwatch thinking someone's going to rip me .

I told a few people when I started out thinking not much would come of my grow and that lays the seed of doubt in my mind, but next year I'm telling nobody.

Yes mate , I first started emailing every pic individually then realised I can just transfer them using pc suite , click on store images , let it scan your phone ,click on store now when scan is finished ,choose pc destination folder if you haven't already.jobs a goodun.

Only prob with my phone at the moment is my battery lasts about half an hour when I'm using it for anything and I noticed it's started bulging out (like the battery is corroded), now the N95 battery is a joke on a good day but this is ridiculous I take 3 pics and its duh, duh, duh (low battery alert lol), so I'm looking for a new battery off ebay . (I love my N95 though it's the best piece of technology I've ever had especially if you hack it).

Off to bed after my last joint of green ,I think I'm on the damn soapbar after that , green has got so expensive 2-3 joints for £10, but my de^l^rs got none anyway.

Good Growin.

soz to hear about the mold problem , and yes I think this will become more of a problem for me when (if) my buds get bigger because I have them in a DIY greenhouse and theres a lot of moisture on the plastic sheeting ,so I try and take the cover off as often as possible.

Just got a nice old style jeweller's loop from my nan , it was my grandad's who died last year, It is foldable and I don't know the magnification but I just had a look at my plant and it works fine (tricomes look cloudy), when I think my plant is ready I will cut a piece off and look at it inside under better lighting.

Other pic is my clone which I did start to cover but hasn't started to flower yet.

thats a great looking eye loupei can spend hours looking at my plant through the loupe it's like i'm in a differant world lol.
it's good you take the cover off as much as possible that moisture on the plastic will invite the mold to set in, you could cut holes in the plastic to help ventilate it
keep up the good work mate, i'll be following your progress
