While using a mini-scope for the first time I noticed that there are a good number of cloudy to amber trichs existing but many more that have the appearance of rattlesnake fangs. Are these immature and will they mushroom out with maturity? The trichs that are mushroomed are mostly cloudy to amber. Has been flowering outdoors for approximately six weeks.

Another thing. The plant is only about 16'' high with one large main cola and then 6 to 8 smaller branches below. The main cola appears to be producing more resin sacks than hairs, while the lower and smaller buds are producing many more hairs. Is this a good sign; and an indication that the top is just much more mature than the bottom portion of plant?

I'm trying to figure out if I need to cut the main cola and let the smaller buds mature into something substantial. Thanks.

The top mature faster because they get more light. You can trim some leaves or move the bottom so you can get some light on them. It is all up to the weather and how mature the bottom buds are.
