Well the driveway problem is a territorial thing. It is the first place that he has marked as his. You will need to walk him in the area you want him to go untill he goes then praise, Repeat several times, then over time he will go there more often than not.
Also if a fence is out of the question I highly recommed getting an invisable fence ( much cheaper and effective ) also retreivers love to explore and will wander off if not restrained while unsupervised.
I would hate to see the day you have to tell your child that Tucker was killed by a car.

I like tucker going in our driveway, it's easy to find and pick up all in one spot, just not the neighbors(today was the first time that's why I want to stop it before everything is marked and it happens again.

You're the pack leader- you tell the dog where he's allowed to crap, and if you want it in the driveway, hey, it's in the driveway. But as he's maturing the pissing/marking thing is still a really useful behavior to use for training, because he's going to be leaving scent marks around the yard, not only pissing because he's got to pee. So again, take him out on the leash and walk him around the edge of your property, and praise him for taking interest in things and marking them. He's making himself a dog version of an invisible fence! It won't keep him from crossing it, but that part is up to you to train him.

Yes I am! Sorry I couldn't resist. But ask anybody I'm in charge of this whole pack and I make sure any animal or person coming in knows it. I watched enough Dog whisperer while I was pregnant to learn about the basic of how dog communicate in their pack, and just kept reading everything I could after that.
