    Is my plant a hermie????

I dont know what the hell is going on but its the 12 week of growing indoor and I am using a HPS 400 watt with a 55,000 lumens light bulb. My plant is female and its got nice buds on it along with good bright nice colors on it and it smells skunky as hell. My whole room smells like as if I stash a pound of skunk in my room. But anyways I attached some pictures to it. Its like on some buds its got those seed looking pods in it and i dont knwo if its turning into a male but how? I only have one plant thats it. Is my plant fucked? Should I take it out now? What do I do? Please let me know ASAP.

    Thanks

don't pull your plant. if it's the only one then there's no risk of infecting any other plants, so there's no reason to prematurely pull it. secondly, your plant can't actually "turn male". it can produce some male banana flowers, but that won't have any effect on the way the bud smokes, so just let it finish. if they aren't too numerous, just pluck the little banana shaped flowers with a pair of tweezers...if you like. or you can just leave them on and allow for the possibility to get some seeds. once again, no big deal, it should smoke just fine. try to panic less. make sure the conditions are adequate so your next plant doesn't experience the same problem. i.e. make sure there are no light leaks, make sure your ph is within range every day, make sure temperatures are within range both while the light is on and while it is off, among other things. ppl are generally scared of hermies because they fear it will infect their entire crop, especially so with perpetual crops that have plants in different stages of flower at all times, then it becomes a perpetual nuisance. good luck.

Ok thanks for the info. So I should just let it grow till harvest time and meanwhile for now I just get my tweezers and pluck the seeds out? I mean which one is better to do? Pluck all of them out or dont pluck at all or pluck a few?

it depends how numerous they are. but it's not the seeds you want to be plucking anyway, it's the male flowers; those little, yellow banana shaped things, usually hanging off the BOTTOM of the buds (look closely underneath the buds). it's those that will spread their pollen and infest the rest of the plant. if they aren't too numerous (i would say less than 15 bananas) then i recommend plucking them, and doing it very carefully so as not to agitate them and thereby spread the pollen. or just leave them on, your choice. the plant's already experienced some level of stress, and there's nothing you can do at this stage to take that back. all you can do is ensure that it lives the rest of its life stress free. i'm sure if you correct some of the mistakes you made this round on your next grow, you'll get much better results. as you gain more experience, you should see less and less seeds in your grow, even if you're working with bagseed that is likely to hermi every time

I suspect you are looking at swollen calyxes, and mistaking them for developing seeds (easy to be fooled)

genes mostly, alot of plants will hermie at the end of the flower cycle. they won't have enough time to produce seeds with would be fem anyways, but none the less it just happens.

ya, like lit up says, genes is suspect numero uno. nothing you can do about that. once a plant hermies and produces bag seed, and you come by and grow those seeds, the hermie cycle is pretty much locked in place. HOWEVER, you can do plenty to prevent excess seeds from forming. culprit number 2 after genetics is light leaks imo. make sure there are absolutely zero light leaks. plants tending to hermie will put up a fit if there is even the slightest light leaking. heat stress is another biggie. make sure your plants receive adequate ventilation and air circulation. have a fan running while the lights are on and make sure the temps are okay. the key here is STRESS FREE. anything you suspect will cause the plant to stress out, will likely result in more seeds. less stress, less seeds. if you can conquer a plant that is known to hermie, then you can more than easily raise purchased, high quality seeds without having to worry about hermies. growing bag seed is tougher overall than growing purchased seeds.

Yeah, I have had a re-vegged mom who was hermie and some of the clones didn't hermie at all. It wasn't a real bad herm anyways, prob my fault in the first place.
