Please help, brown spots and curling leaves
I'm not sure when this started but I know it has gotten worse since I watered last about 3 days ago. I made the mistake of trying to grow multiple strains in the same room with the same formula. It seems that only one of the strains is effected. The effected strain is querkle (purple erkle x space queen). Unfortunatly, I trimmed away all the worst leaves before I took these pictures. Hopefully you can still get a good idea of what's going on. The room is way overcrowed as it is and even though it would be a shame this late in the game, if I don't fix this soon, I may have to consider tossing them. Lets hope it doesn't come to that.
This is my first time growing soil so maybe I overnuted. Also, the last watering had a lower pH of 6.0. I had previously been giving them 6.6. Everything else looks super healthy with fat nugs already after 3 1/2 weeks flowering. Now I'm really freaking out because today I found beginning stages of white powdery mold on some of the bottom leaves. I've been hitting them with tons of serenade and pruning so hopfully it goes away the easy way. The humidity is about 40-50% I'm using foxfarm for the majority with about 20% of both perlite and coco mixed in. I have 5 gallon pots under 1000W hps and mh reflectors. C02 is about 1300 I think but I don't have a meter. They've been getting about 1300 ppm of nutes (1600 tds w/ karma and sweet). Room is usually 75-80 degrees. What should I do? Can I bring them back? Should I leech them? Or should I toss them before the mold spreads? Any advice is very much appreciated. Thanks |

Your pictures are not very good unfortunitly. Its hard to see exactly what your talking about. try using macro on the cam and getting close to one leaf.

yea that's kinda what i was thinking. The majority of my plants are doing great though. Do you think I should mix up a different batch of nutes for the querkles? Shoiuld I leach them first? I've never grown with soil before. My general approach with hydro has always been to give them as much nutes as they can take. I've heard that some people don't even add nutes every watering. Is this reccomended? I use foxfarm ocean which has lots of fertilizer to begin with but i think most of it gets used up in veg.

Ok these should be a little better. I've never grown with soil before so I don't know much about flushing/leaching. Is this something I should be doing anyway? I would really appreciate any help at all. Thanks again everyone

Why are you mixing the coco in?
I'd flush well (two to three times the pot volume) with 6.8 ph water. Mix per soil applications, not hydro. Big difference in needs. If feeding daily, you are building-up the nutrient level to toxic levels and dropping the ph. Likely getting a salt build up as well depending on the nutes. 6.3 to 6.8 ph for peat based soil (and peat based soilless) mixes. I'd back off the additives till they are looking better.

looks like overnuting
My first grow, I had the same problem. Grew four strains, one being White Widow. Got a few weeks into bloom, one day after I watered and nuted, most of the top leaves looked pretty much like yours. Like a claw but pointing upwards, with brown and burned spotting.
My advice is to flush the affected plant(s). There is a sticky covering flushing here. Soil Runoff pH, Flushing to correct lockouts- Why and how to do it! If the other ladies are happy with their food, then keep feeding them at the current rate. Then just dilute that food with pH'd water for the querky querkle. ![]() You didn't say what kind of Fox Farm soil you were growing in. If it is the Ocean Forest (?) stuff, I hear it is very hot so beware. Why did you change your pH to 6.0 this watering? You should be around 6.5 - 6.7. I don't think this is your main issue but it may be secondary to the overnuting. Good luck.

Rusty and I hit at the same time
I'd take his advice every time over mine.

PH IS A GOOD PLACE TO START oops caps get that straight
next how do you clean your air and what is its proximity too the effected area or the ac? some a/c's hvae ionizers and ozone or corbon on top of what your running so both does your water sit out? 40 ppm do you use a water softener, not much hardness maybe a touch of calmag but not till you answer water softner ? i thought of some other stuff but smoked a bowl

Unfortunately there's a bit of art to dialing in nutrient levels in soil. I would just keep flushing those plants with pure water until the leaves straighten out and they start looking a little hungry for nutrients. I made the mistake when I first started in soil of using a rich soil plus a lot of nutrient, which just burned the crap out of the plants. Start low and just add slightly more until the very tips of the leaves start to burn and alternate pure water & nutrients every other day.

in a sealed room you need an air scrubber not sure y but i remember u do i prefer charcoal theres a inexpensive thread for making one on here somewher like 30$ or something
i just relized that you said querkle, i just started using FFOF in place of my normal cause i found a spot to get it cheap but i dont really care for it cause i tend to have probs 2-3 months in, works great at first tho. to the point. my purple erkle does the same shit in ff just about 2weeks ago now. i added some magical to her only, and it seemed to stop the spread. dont try to fix whats not broke i think your prob might be the strain since my erk does the same thing in the same medium. try to add a lil cal mag not full strentgh, while reducing your overall strength do you feed with every watering? maybe rusty will chime in here water softener like a filter or something

shit i have the same exact problem. If you could do another post telling me how you fixed the problem, (or if you did at all). So basically what everyone suggests is to flush the soil and try and stabalize the ph. Is that all i can do? Its only affecting one plant but it is my trophy girl and I need the money I make from her.
