just wanted to get a few answers here....I am currently saving the trim and lil popcorn nugs for hash....we plan on using pretty much all of it on Flame-ons caps, and a plethora of stinkys recipes...can i just make my concentrate using the trim and filtering it as opposed to making the hash/kief and then cooking with it?...Im sure dosage will be an issue, but we will get to that after this first question...lol

This is what I plan on doing. Extracting into a fatty product. Problem is you have to extract the thc into something. It's fat soluble so milk, butter, cream anything of the sort will work perfectly well.

However I don't think you could take... let's say toast and spread bubble hash over it. Don't think it would work that way.

for a great extraction method check out stinky's "clean cannabutter tutorial" in the medical edibles forum.

Yesterday I made 1.5-2tbsp of cannabutter using 36 grams of vaped cannabis and got super stoned. The best part was that you couldn't taste the weed let alone the burnt/scorched flavor of vaporized/used up weed.

It's a bit tedious but well worth it for the end product. YUM!

Thanks D!!...i read the recipes, and canna-cooked quite a few times... Just dont know how much of my popcorn and trim i would use for say stinkys canna-truffles, Dont wanna buy schwag if i got trim ya know? If all my trim is popcorn nugs, and leaf tips with visible glands, no stems or large leaves, how much would i use?...thats what i am trying to figure out...It would save me ALOT of mess if i could figure that out, instead of making the hash/kief first...lol, I am a lazy stoner sometimes....

SnStealth, there is no answer to that question because the concentration of resins in the leaves of the plant varies strain by strain and grower by grower. So what you will want to do is re-extract a second time into the already THC-laden butter from the first extraction.
To do this, after you have gone through all the butter crockpot steps up to where you separate the leaf material from the hot liquid and squeeze it through the potato ricer, you take the liquid and add ANOTHER batch of dried crushed trim to extract, and start all over again.
I know you are going to ask at what point it becomes too saturated to make an nth reextraction practical. I don't know

should i bio the butter in between extractions? How would i do that, piece of toast or something?..is there a ROUGH estimate? like half oz of high quality trim? i dont keep the large leaves and such...just the actual bud trim...I dont wanna freak out our friends on sun, I have had some WAY too strong brownies before...kinda uncomfortable....Sorry to bug ya stinks...although i have cooked alot, its been WAY strong, or not enough....lol

I've never bio'ed the butter in between. It takes way too long, and you'd have to measure out an exact amount to consider a 'dose'.
You can bio it when the whole batch is done, determine the dose, and then back-calculate how much you will need in the recipe if say it makes 10 brownies you want 10 doses, and then you calculate how much POT butter and REGULAR butter you have to mix to get close to that number.
Remember it's easier to dilute the butter later than have to play with the recipe to allow for WAY more butter just to hit one dose.

I haven't been cooking long at all but this is what I do.

I just mix up whatever I want to use for the butter.. Shwag, little bit of trim (I use everything from leaves to stalk... never know where the cannabinoids may lie ). I try to judge my ratio's by past expierence.

ie: I used 10-12 grams of shwag in 2 tbsp of butter... spilled about half of it.. made 9 chocolate chip cookies. Had to eat like 6 to get a decent buzz/stone.

the following time I used 36 grams of vape duff, trim, and a small 1gram nug I found mixed into 3 tbsp of butter.

Ate 3 cookies and I was sky high.

I'd say apart from actually turning it into high quality bubble hash kief with little to no plant material that there's no way to give a definitive dose.

Make a very small batch with say... 5 grams of good trim into 1 tbsp of butter.. make a cookie or something.

Then you can scale up or down from there depending on how much stronger or weaker you want it and you haven't wasted much of your trim.

lol...tis good man!! I have been QUITE ripped the last few days off our shit too....I have made brownies that made a few people very paranoid and heart racy, cant move...blah blah(thought thats what you wanted?)...and i have made some that just tasted like you ripped the bong and had a good body buzz...
trying not to disappoint on 420...lol
So stinky, i should divy the trim, reconcentrating X times correct? just making sure I got it through my noggin...like d said, I have been ripped as hell as well last few days
Oh, just read something about putting the trim in the oven for a while at 325 first? dont get that one..mines already pretty brittle dry, do i need to do the oven thing? dont wanna vape my shit...lol

I've read somewhere too about putting it in the oven 1st, I think it's to help dry out and quickly cure fresher plant matter. If your trim is plenty dry and the cannabiniods are cured, I don't think you would need to bake it. but wutduIkno
