Alright I searched and searched to find the best recipe for making canabutter and couldn't find anything real solid, they were all different. So I made up my own, here is what happened.
I used 11.5 grams of vaped weed i had been saving in a ziplock bag, with 4 sticks (1LB) of unsalted "Land O Lakes" butter and a about 2 cups of water! I put the butter and already vaped weed in the saucer and put the lid on I put in on a low simmer and stired avery 10-15min for 4 hours. When I removed the lid to stir some decent smelling vapor would rise out but not alot cause i figured if i had it too high it would all evaporate! I then strained through a cheese cloth and placed in the fridge. The next morning the butter and water had separated so i removed the butter, there was ALOT of butter it is a green color and looks good! but it is unusable cause it taste like SHIT, it taste like old vaped weed. maybe i should have used more bud or less butter. I put some on toast and could only eat 2 bites, it is NASTY. What do u all think i did wrong. I see lots of people are using vaped weed and i would love to recycle thats a free high but what can i do with vaped bud that taste decent? I'm going to try making homemade brownies with 1 cup of it and see if it taste alright and how high i get! i'll let u know how that works

if any body knows a good recipe for using vaped bud please give me a detailed recipe thanks

i think 4 hours of heating is a bit too long, no technical backup for it but my own exp

and last time i checked weed smelled and tasted like weed, generally the taste is not too pleasant to most ppl

and no matter what u do, using only weed, butter and water, there is no way to get rid of the taste. now i dont know how a vaped mj will taste but i can tell it should be along the same lines as dry non-vaped mj a lil worse perhaps

I have figured most ppl are too sassy about the taste. it all depends on what is the intent in cooking. i personally have come to ignore the taste and go for the better cause!

best brownies i have had, had chopped weed mixed in and they did taste like weed

however vaped weed has lost a good portion of its thc content as u can imagine

Well... weed+butter is hardly going to be appetizing now is it?

Mix in some spices like cinnamon, paprika, and chuck some sugar on it much like you'd make cinnamon bread.

thanks discostu thats not a bad idea alright so I made brownies last night following this recipe:
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter ( I used the rest of my vaped cannabutter just happened to be 1 cup)

Mix sugar, cocoa, eggs and vanilla; gradually add flour and salt. When that is mixed, blend in butter. Spread in a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. No baking soda or powder is needed for this recipe. Nuts are optional.

1 and half get you high so i'm assuming that 3 will be a good dose!

next batch i'm going to use more vaped weed and less butter to get a more potent batch! but this worked I made a 8'' by 13'' pan of goodies!

Vaporizers are very efficient, much better than smoking! it uses less herb so your bag will last longer. try making some brownies with the recipe above tell me what ya think, use more weed to less butter they will come out stronger

for a real treat make some brownies then whenever u want throw one in the microwave on medium for bout 25 seconds then shovel on some ice-cream o ya it's good

I've been making vaped weed butter/brownies/etc for the past 5 years with my volcano. The best bet is to use at least 20 grams per batch of brownies. For a good high. Remember a lot of the thc is gone so you need to make up for it by adding more. If you do it right (id say boil water then put a pan on top of the water melt the butter with the vaped weed and wait 2 hours tops) (simmer....after the water has already been boiling)

Too much butter for that amount of weed. I stick would have been better, and then you could 'cut' the cannabutter with regular butter, making the flavor less in your recipes.
Look in 'edibles' for my washed cannabutter tutorial, and follow the 'washing' procedure.
I use a crock pot on low for up to 24 hours with LOTS of water, stirring frequently.
If your butter has a scorched flavor, you can make toasted almond caramels, and there is a recipe in my grow log which you can find if you search the term 'donkey dick'. I think the recipe is on page 5 or 6 of the log. Add a bit of extra almond extract to the recipe, and omit the salt if you are using salted butter.
