Splenda and sugar are cup for cup. But Splenda has possible health hazards attached to it, so you might want to try using stevia instead.
Stevia is a natural plant extract- the gauchos of South America use it in leaf form to sweeten their tea. It is VERY sweet- I use 1/8 of a teaspoon of the powder to sweeten a pint of tea. A full teaspoon (depending on brand) is roughly the equivalent of a cup of sugar. Doesn't mess with your blood sugar and no calories! The cheapest place to buy it is "Owl's Nest Plantation" (they do local produce, too, so look for their "herbs and spices"). Our local (overpriced) health food store sells stevia for $50 a pound, ONP comes in at about $37 total (inc. S&H) and great service, too! A pound lasts me about a year, and I use a lot of stevia!
