if i were to place a few buds in some high proof alcohol, and let it sit in there for a few weeks, shaking each day, could i strain out the bud, evaporate the liquid and smoke the remaining sludge?

This will teach you how to make yourself some potent Green Dragon Extract. I wouldn't recomend smoking any leftover bud used for tinctures because I highly doubt there is any significant level of THC left in those buds. You'd be inhaling burnt plant material for no reason, not to mention it has probably gone through some changes while being saturated in alcohol.

He is talking about smoking the residue the pure liquid (green dragon) leaves after being evaporated... and not the leftovers of the weed.

Anyway, its a good idea to look at the Green dragons thread... it is a recipe of how to make this tincture in a couple of hours, instead waiting weeks for the alcohol dissolve the THC from the weed.

And yes, this sticky oily residue is called Hash Oil, and can (should) be smoked. Its WAY stronger than the weed used for making it... and far healthier too, because one is smoking only the THC-containing resin, and not the burn plant material.

I only smoke this, and recommend it for everybody.

After you have made you Green Dragon the remaining weed is saturated with Green Dragon. Not a lot but you can mix a couple of grams of ground up tinctured bud with uncooked food (heat might vaporize it) like a salad or ice cream and enjoy. It isn't as strong but this way there is no waste. Same thing goes for what ever type of container you use to cook your GD in. After all is said and done clean your cooking container with a hot drinkable liquid like tea or coffee. That dark stain is GD and can be utilized, same goes for any cloth/coffee filter you might have used to strain it, dunk the cloth in a warm liquid until the dark stain comes out and then down the hatch.

I usually get trashed when making Master Wu's recipe because I have no Idea how much I am ingesting from the cleanup, plus whatever I have to take to give a quality check to my fresh batch of GD.
