while the erbo isn't actually a vape, it has been endorsed by several compassion clubs as a good harm reduction device. Anyone have a firsthand account?

I haven't heard of the Erbo. It seems to be a pipe where the smoke is tamed a lot vs. standard smoking.

"This optimization is achieved through our patent pending Hydrofuge® process, which begins with the ignition of the smoking substance. The resulting vapor is then mechanically drawn into a powerful vortex inside the inner gas expansion chamber."

Seems much better than smoking, even if you using a waterpipe, but ignition means combustion, so it's really smoke you're dealing with, even if it's processed to make it milder. I would still recommend a vaporizer, although IMO you'd have to pay more than the Erbo price to get a safe, reliable electric model.

ERBO user

I've had the ERBO for about 2 months now and it's pretty good for the price. I got it from erbopipes.com for $60/free delivery. The package included the erbo + ebro cleaner, which I would recommend buying. It's not really a vaporizer it's more like a mini bong that smokes itself. You press a button that activates a fan, then light the bowl on top (they recommend a butane lighter because you want to toast the whole bowl at one time). The fan sucks the smoke through a dome with some water and shoots it out of a metal tube into your mouth. Pros: cool smoking tool for the price. Cons: Not really a vaporizer, more like a bong; gets dirty really fast, with heavy use need to clean weekly. They used to sell for a lot more, like $120 then they dropped in price and I had to check it out. I heard that the guy that invented the ERBO sold it, now the new company is probably going to revamp it so older models were being cleared out.

This is in the wrong section.

The erbo is a pipe and belongs in general methods category.

THIS IS NOT A VAPORIZER!!! The whole point of a vape is to reduce the temperature applied to the herb. By just leaving that liquid state, THC becomes unstable and ready to bond chemically. By burning, you convert a LOT of THC into carbon.

The erbo is a gadget in my opinion. It's just a bubbler with an air pump hooked up to it so you take the same hit every time. Predictable yes, vaporizer crazy stoned? nope.
