Replacement grommet for vape?

My friend and I went in on a vape a few months back and let another friend use it since we weren't really getting the results we wanted. The other friend made magic with it and we got it back, only to find that the silicone grommet that the wand was in was completely cracked and the wand was just moving freely. I told him it wasn't a big deal since I figured we could find another one easy enough, but it's proving to be quite a task. It's an Ultimate Vapor Machine, if anyone knows the type, and it's pretty much unsafe to use given the high temperature and a heating element that has no support to keep it from resting on wood.

We got a rubber grommet from a hardware store and it fit perfectly, but then after about 5 minutes of heating it up, the rubber started to melt and burn.

We went to a couple of smoke shops and one went so far as to give me some rubber grommets to fashion something similar to what it was, but again they were just rubber and melted.

We need silicone, we decided, and have no idea where to get a replacement. I thought it would be a frequent problem, since it's obvious that the grommet was placed in high heat conditions for long enough to start breaking down, but the company's website offers no such replacement and I can't find one anywhere else.

Anyone have a good fix for this? As of now we're considering getting a bunch of silicone goop and reassembling the old, cracked grommet, but I'm not sure it will work as well as we're hoping. I had no idea finding a silicone grommet would be this difficult.

You mean the manufacturer's website (does one exist? I don't see one.) or the company you bought it from? Have you contacted 'the company' via email?

This is the problem with buying a vape where the maker of the unit can't be contacted by phone. You wouldn't have this problem with Vaporwarez or Vapor Bros. Of course you wouldn't have a digital display with either of those vapes either. But they'll be going strong long after the display in the UVM has died. I think it's best to keep it simple. Very few of the box vapes with digital have a warranty. The Easy Vape would have been my choice in this catagory, if I absolutely had to have a display. It has a 5 yr. warranty.
