unexpectations

I've been 'experienced' since '65, however i'm new to the volcano. It doesn't say HELLO.
using quality herbs (when combusted through glass or paper it works fine)and heating from 160-190C
Am I wrong to expect it to be at least as good?

You're kind of vague with your complaint. Not getting vapor or not getting the smoke high? 160 C is low, but 190 should work. Try 7-7.5 if using the Classic (or around 205 C). You should get plenty of vapor.

If your complaint is that you're not getting the same high, that's to be expected. You do lose out on a couple of sedative compounds that take combustion or near combustion to produce, but mostly what you miss with vapor are smoke by-products. They're not cannabis compounds but toxins like carbon monoxide, benzene, toluene, hydrogen cyanide, etc. They make you dizzy, drowsy, etc. and most people just assume that's part of the mj high. You get a much cleaner effect with vapor.

Thanks for the input. I was to quick to judge and two more days qualifies your point. I can learn to live without the toxins and the effect they cause now that I know.

Glad to help. It was an adjustment for me as well, but I couldn't take smoke anymore so I had plenty of motivation to switch and stick with it. Now I only smoke when I'm away from home, have no vape, and I'm getting some good tokes for free. But those episodes don't tempt me to return to smoking. Vapor is definitely the healthier way to go. And you can save the remains for cooking, extraction, or simply vaping at a high temp for those occasions when you want/need those extra sedative, analgesic effects.
