Vaporizer recommendations

Although portability is not all that important to me, if there is no downside, I wouldn't mind using a portable at home. The Volcano is way too expensive, especially as I could buy an iolite and an SSV for less money. I've never used a vaporizer of any kind before, but after 35 years of smoking, I'm kind of tired of the nasty taste from smoking, so the concept appeals to me. I really can't spend more than 300.00USD, so it comes down to either a launch box and 'da Buddha (best of both worlds?), or an iolite alone, or a non-portable and a pipe for the rare occasion when I indulge away from home. I'd like to hear your recommendations re: the iolite vis-a-vis the launch box, and also the SSV vis-a-vis 'da Buddha (what do you get for your extra $100?).

umpnum14 is an unknown quantity at this point
I have owned four Vaporizers up to now.
I have owned the O2mini (crap)
A Chinese knockoff of the (Vapezilla) (ok)
The Launch Box (Great Stealth and extremely portable requires a Single AA rechargeable to power and can get for under $100 plus a lifetime warranty.
I also own the Arizer Extreme paid $250 shipped and is by far the best vape I have owned thus far.
Checkout vaporpedia.com for whats available
and fuckcombustion.com for extensive reviews and i do mean extensive)
Peace

I own Da Buddha. I love it personally, and as far as I can tell the unity functions just like the SSV. My friend used it for the first time yesterday, this gentleman has been using his Volcano for the last couple of years daily. He is going to sell his Volcano, and buy Da Buddha and a netbook with the money from the Volcano ( well he hopes he can do both ), but ya get the point. It's a great vape, simple, strong, effective, comes with a nifty carrying bag.

I've used a DBV and own an SSV, and the SSV won't get you much more performance wise. It can pack a little bigger punch hit wise, with a more concentrated air stream, but the DBV is a little more predictable in its hits. It also takes just a hair more care during use, due to the hands free connection. I like the SSV heater angle. I place it where it's convenient and easy to use, so I don't regret buying it over the cheaper model. But if $ is a factor, or you like the hands free setup, I'd go with the DBV.

I have both the Launch Box and iolite too. Each has different advantages in regards to portability. The LB does better with small amounts, as far as efficiency. The iolite is very stealthy, except in quiet areas where the hissing noise during reheating would be an issue. The LB is a very simple design, and should be much more reliable over time, and it has the best warranty on the market-unconditional and open ended.

I'd go with the DBV and LB over the iolite or SSV alone. You get really high value and both a home vape and a portable.

Thank you very much (to all) for taking the time to respond. Exactly the comparison I was looking for, Vapefiend. Thanks.
